Job Description

Business Development Representative at Tekst

Your primary objective as a Business Development Representative is to identify and qualify new business opportunities to fuel Tekst's growth across your assigned territory. As a BDR, you are the first point of contact for potential Tekst customers. You’ll be the driving force behind Tekst's international market expansion, using strategic prospecting to open doors at new logo accounts and building a robust pipeline in collaboration with Tekst's sales and marketing team. This role is based in Tekst's Ghent HQ or offers a Hybrid work arrangement.

What You'll Do

  • Hunt for opportunities: Proactively identify and engage high-potential prospects through cold calling, strategic emailing, and social selling (LinkedIn).
  • Craft compelling messages: Write tight, thoughtful outbound copy that gets attention and earns meetings.
  • Master the "First Touch": Conduct high-level discovery calls with Director and VP-level stakeholders at leading enterprises to understand their business challenges and qualify them based on fit.
  • Strategic Outreach: Collaborate with Account Executives to develop territory plays as Tekst grows internationally. Work closely with Tekst's marketing team on account-based marketing (ABM) strategies for target enterprise accounts.
  • Articulate Value: Clearly communicate the Tekst value proposition, explaining how Tekst's AI platform solves complex process inefficiencies for specific industries.
  • Manage the Funnel: Diligently track all activity and lead stages in Tekst's CRM to ensure seamless hand-offs to the AE team and accurate pipeline forecasting.
  • Become a Product Expert: Stay ahead of AI trends and the Tekst product roadmap to handle initial objections and spark curiosity in prospects.

What You Need

  • Experience: 1-2+ years of experience in sales development, lead generation, or a high-volume customer-facing role.
  • Resilience & Grit: A hunter mentality with the persistence to overcome objections and stay motivated in an outbound-heavy environment.
  • Curiosity: A natural ability to ask the right questions and a genuine interest in how AI is transforming the enterprise landscape.
  • Startup Mindset: Comfortable thriving in a fast-paced, early-stage company where processes are evolving and your feedback directly impacts Tekst's strategy.
  • Communication Excellence: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English; you can write a cold email that people actually want to read.
  • Self-Starter Attitude: Highly organized with the ability to manage your own daily cadence of outreach without constant oversight.
  • Tech Savvy: Familiarity with modern sales tools (Salesforce/HubSpot, Salesloft/Outreach, LinkedIn Sales Navigator).

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Experience with the MEDDIC or BANT qualification frameworks.
  • Fluency in additional European languages (French, German, or Dutch).
  • A background or strong interest in AI and automation technologies.
  • B2B SaaS experience.
