Job Description
Intellectual Property Specialist at T.I.P. TechnoCoRe
Be part of a growing innovation and technology commercialization ecosystem. At the Technological Institute of the Philippines (T.I.P.) Innovation and Technology Support Unit, our IP Specialist plays a key role in managing, protecting, and maximizing the value of the institution's intellectual property assets. You'll work closely with inventors, researchers, and technical teams to turn pioneering ideas into protected IP and commercialization-ready technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with inventors and R&D teams to understand technologies
- Conduct prior art searches and prepare patent search reports
- Draft or assist in drafting IP applications
- Prepare and file patent, utility model, trademark, and copyright documents
- Maintain T.I.P!'s IP portfolio (patents, utility models, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets)
- Track renewal deadlines, maintenance fees, and compliance requirements
- Assist in detecting and addressing potential IP infringements
- Support campus-wide IP awareness and training initiatives
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Law, or related fields
- Preferably with training or certification in Intellectual Property (IPOPHL, WIPO, etc.)
Experience Requirements:
- At least 1-2 years experience in IP management, technology transfer, patent drafting, or research work
- Experience with prior art search tools, patent databases, or drafting technical documents is an advantage
- Familiarity with IPOPHL processes is a plus
