The Role: Technical Project Manager - AI & Data

The Technical Project Manager - AI & Data plays a pivotal role in planning and delivering AI/ML, Data & BI projects throughout the organization. This position acts as a crucial link between technical teams and business stakeholders, focusing on maximizing organizational impact. You will collaborate closely with AI engineers, data scientists, data engineers, product owners, and various business stakeholders to bring structure, visibility, and coordination to complex, cross-functional initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Execution: Own the planning and execution of AI/ML, Data & BI projects, ensuring clear scope, defined timelines, and precise deliverables. You will facilitate project meetings, meticulously monitor progress, proactively manage risks and dependencies, and address any blockers to keep initiatives on track.
• Strategic Mediation & Two-Way Translation: Operate at the critical juncture of technical teams and business stakeholders to drive maximum organizational impact. You will translate complex technical realities, constraints, and emerging opportunities to business leadership, empowering informed decision-making. Concurrently, you will convey essential business context, strategic priorities, and customer challenges to the technical teams, fostering a deep understanding of the 'why' behind projects and enabling strategic contributions.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Facilitate seamless collaboration across the AI and Data teams, engineering departments, and various tech and business units. Ensure clarity in roles and responsibilities, optimize meeting effectiveness, and streamline communication. This role spans multiple European markets and diverse business types, requiring interaction with product teams, engineering organizations, business units with differing priorities, C-suite executives, and specialized technical experts. You will synthesize competing perspectives into a cohesive strategy and actionable execution plan.
• Tracking & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date project documentation and timelines. Provide regular, transparent status updates, proactively surface potential risks, and support the preparation of briefings and reports for senior leadership.
• Operational Support: Contribute significantly to the development of robust delivery frameworks, standardized templates, and optimized planning processes for the AI & Data function. Support quarterly planning cycles, efficient resource coordination, and the standardization of reporting practices across the board.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in technical project management and/or AI product development, preferably within tech, data, or AI environments.
• Strong background in AI/ML and Data, demonstrating proven technical knowledge of the AI/ML & Data lifecycle and an aptitude for quickly learning new technical domains.
• Extensive experience managing complex, multi-country projects, with a demonstrated ability to manage timelines, diverse stakeholders, and intricate dependencies across multiple workstreams effectively.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and popular tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar project management platforms.

Preferred Experience

• Experience managing projects specifically within AI/ML, data, or analytics environments. This includes leading machine learning model development initiatives, managing data platform or infrastructure projects, coordinating analytics or BI implementations, or overseeing AI product development cycles. This exposure provides insight into unique domain challenges like experimentation uncertainty, infrastructure complexity, and cross-team dependencies, without requiring a deep technical engineering background.
• Proven experience supporting program operations, including planning cycles, comprehensive reporting, or continuous process improvement initiatives.
