Senior Financial Crime Risk Analyst at TD
The Senior Financial Crime Risk Analyst contributes significantly to the development and maintenance of TD’s AML/ATF/Sanctions/ABAC programs. This includes frameworks, methodologies, policies, standards, procedures, awareness, specialized training, monitoring, management reporting, and issue escalation. The role involves conducting periodic and event-driven reviews of customers, including targeted assessments to evaluate risks. Additionally, this position supports management in delivering initiatives related to risk assessment and internal/external exam support.
Depth & Scope
As a senior analyst and subject matter expert, you will work independently, potentially coaching and educating others. This role oversees and performs tasks end-to-end, applying expert knowledge of business operations, products, services, methods, and operating standards to enhance unit or team performance. You will execute complex and non-standard requests, research and investigate operational, reporting, and process issues, and recommend and implement solutions within your area of responsibility. Coordination with other areas may be necessary. The position requires advanced analysis and specialized reporting to support business partners, functional areas, or centers of expertise, leveraging advanced technical, business, and functional knowledge. This role handles high complexity in operational, reporting, process, and analysis functions, with a medium to longer-term focus, and represents the group as a lead or subject matter expert on projects, initiatives, or meetings across the organization.
Education & Experience
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years experience
Preferred Skills
- AML investigations background
- Prior SAR writing experience
- Prior SAR review experience
- QC or QA experience
- ACAMS certification preferred
Customer Accountabilities
You will contribute to developing team procedures and governance processes, advising FCRM stakeholders on program changes. Collaborating with FCRM partners, Compliance, Legal, and Risk, you'll support documentation for regulatory bodies and internal groups. This role involves conducting research, assessing FCRM risks and controls, and providing governance oversight through policy and training exemption management. You will assist team members with the Issues and Events system, prepare summaries and presentations on FCRM program status, and deliver expert FCRM advice. The role also includes interacting with control functions, developing and delivering training, and conducting research and analysis to assess program effectiveness and inform risk assessments.
Shareholder Accountabilities
This role prioritizes and manages workloads to meet SLA requirements, providing high-quality service and advice to FCRM partners. You will protect organizational interests by identifying and managing risks, ensuring prompt resolution of escalated issues. Providing FCRM advice to business partners, you will participate in new product initiatives, advising on FCRM compliance requirements. The position involves participating in FCRM projects to facilitate changes to processes, systems, or practices, and coordinating with partners for consistent program application. You will ensure FCRM programs align with TD's philosophy, monitor industry developments, and contribute to cross-functional initiatives as an expert. Compliance with audit and regulatory requirements, including supporting reviews and maintaining a strong risk management culture, is also key.
