Overview
The Product Group Technology Lead - Metadata Management & Data Discovery at TD Securities owns the end-to-end technology strategy, architecture, and delivery outcomes for a portfolio spanning Data Discovery & Metadata Harvesting, Automated Classification & Enrichment (ACE), and AI for Data Management (AI4DM). This role sets the North Star for the portfolio, harmonizes engineering practices, and drives measurable business value through automation and operational excellence.
Portfolio Scope
- Data Discovery & Metadata Harvesting: Enterprise discovery, source onboarding, lineage/code-scan hooks, telemetry/log ingestion, and reliable pipelines.
- ACE: Automated sensitivity classification, tagging, and business-context enrichment.
- AI4DM: AI methods and agent-based services to augment data management lifecycle activities.
Accountabilities
- Set the portfolio vision, strategy, OKRs and success metrics.
- Establish engineering patterns, guardrails, SLAs/SLOs, and ensure interoperability.
- Oversee quarterly planning, dependency management, and predictable delivery.
- Lead and develop teams to build a high-performing organization.
- Define and track operational reliability metrics including service health and incident management.
- Embed compliance, ethical data practices, and risk management in AI operations.
- Represent the portfolio to senior leadership and drive stakeholder partnership.
Key Responsibilities
Translate enterprise objectives into a unified roadmap, standardize connector approaches, drive continuous improvement, implement evaluation tools for AI outputs, and produce audit-ready evidence with executive dashboards.
Qualifications
- 12–15+ years in data/platform engineering, data management/governance, and AI/ML.
- 10+ years in building and leading product/platform organizations at enterprise scale.
- Deep expertise in multi-cloud and federated on‑prem environments.
- Proven leadership in delivery of metadata, classification/enrichment, and AI-driven services.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience in financial-services data practices and privacy-preserving techniques.
