Data Analyst Intern Co-op at TD Securities

TD Securities offers co-op and internship opportunities to gain valuable work experience across various businesses. You will work with experienced colleagues, receive world-class training, and be part of a community of students. About the Role
As a Data Analyst Intern/Co-op, you will join one of the Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) teams. You will be treated as an equal team member from day one and assigned meaningful tasks to improve data platforms across segments like Core Banking, Business Banking, Insurance, Wealth, or Enterprise Platforms.
Responsibilities
- Work with business and technology partners to define, develop, and document business, data, and system requirements.
- Participate as a member of an agile pod team, actively engaging in agile ceremonies and contributing to new capability development.
- Collaborate with data engineers, product owners, quality engineers, and stakeholders to deliver end-to-end capabilities from concept to production deployment.
- Perform data analysis, profiling, clean-up, data wrangling, and validation as part of university assignments.
- Provide recommendations for data remediation and improvements based on data analysis findings.
- Participate in program/system research, analysis, detailed design, and problem resolution.
- Respond to user inquiries on the data platform in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoot and determine the root cause and resolution for application defects.
- Apply Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) to complete project tasks.
- Continuously enhance knowledge and expertise in leading-edge technologies and trends.
- Develop expertise in data platforms, infrastructure, data pipelines, analytical tools, and design techniques for effective solution development.
- Utilize strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills to work effectively in an agile cross-functional team with diverse stakeholders.
- Own and deliver a project assignment in university from inception to implementation, with successful outcome measurement.
Job Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a relevant technology program (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology Management, Computing).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey ideas effectively to diverse audiences.
- A passion for exploring emerging technologies such as Azure, Python, Talend, Tableau, and Informatica.
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
- Proficiency in Excel, Visio, SQL, and other reporting and analytical tools.
- Understanding of Data Modeling concepts.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Experience with technology project delivery and agile methodologies is an asset.
- Prior experience with creating visualizations (e.g., Process and Data Flows) is beneficial.
- Good documentation skills, including data mapping between Source and Target Systems.
- Ability to capture User Stories and Use Cases.
- Hands-on programming experience in languages like C, C++, C#, Java, Python, SQL, etc., is an asset.
Additional Information
This is a general posting. Specific business group and job duties will be provided during the interview process. We primarily target 3rd & 4th year students but welcome applications from all years of study. This is a 4-month work term from September 8th to December 18th, 2026. Applications must include a resume (max 2 pages) and a school transcript. Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate degree. TD requires employees to reside in Canada. Successful candidates are expected to arrange relocation to one of our Toronto offices for a hybrid work model (4 days per week in office).
Office Locations
Offices are located in the Greater Toronto Area (Markham, Mississauga, Scarborough, Toronto) and London, ON. Specific office location will be based on business needs.
