Associate Quality Engineer at TD Securities

As an Associate Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering quality solutions by performing hands-on testing activities, test creation, and process support within a given functional area. This involves automating tests and enhancing automation frameworks to ensure speed, agility, and robust risk management.

You will integrate directly into a team's continuous delivery process, contributing significantly to the definition of test data and environment requirements. This role demands a proactive approach to analyzing end-to-end solutions, developing in-scope tests, and providing quick feedback throughout the development and design lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on testing activities, including test creation and process support for quality solutions.
  • Automate tests and enhance existing automation frameworks to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Contribute to test planning, design, development, maintenance, and execution to achieve business outcomes.
  • Integrate testing directly into the team's continuous delivery pipeline, focusing on speed, agility, and risk management.
  • Define test data and environment requirements.
  • Analyze business requirements, design specifications, and architecture blueprints to develop comprehensive tests.
  • Develop, debug, and maintain automated and manual test suites and traceability matrices.
  • Log defects, assist in defect resolution, and report on test results to confirm solution quality.
  • Utilize industry-standard tools for test automation activities and management.
  • Leverage virtual assets for incomplete/unavailable code, services, or databases.
  • Apply basic knowledge of test data management, adopting standard test data tool sets.
  • Utilize engineering practices and DevOps tools (source code management, Service Virtualization, monitoring).
  • Implement functional and non-functional automation (performance, reliability, accessibility, security) within CI/CD/CT pipelines.
  • Document and proactively identify end-to-end test solution designs, updating knowledge bases, and finding early automation opportunities.
  • Collaborate with development teams to define and validate user stories, acceptance criteria, and Definition of Done/Ready.
  • Apply Behavior/Test-Driven Development (BDD/TDD) principles, focusing on value-driven outcomes.
  • Provide feedback, reporting, and analytics on quality, performance, user experience, and bug prevention.
  • Actively participate in Practices' communities of interest.
  • Potentially be involved in Proof of Concepts (POCs) for evaluating new testing technologies.

Experience and Education

  • BS degree in Computer Science or a related Engineering discipline; or equivalent practical experience.

Required Skills

  • Up to 2 years of experience in Quality Engineering or Software Testing using industry standard tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Core-Java concepts (OOP, collections, exception handling).
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium for web automation.
  • Good understanding and experience with the Cucumber framework for managing and executing test cases.
  • Experience in REST Assured for API testing and automation.
  • Understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze requirements and convert them into effective test scenarios.

Nice To Have

  • Exposure to CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
  • Basic knowledge of Git and version control systems.

Additional Information

Foundational knowledge of specific domain and quality engineering frameworks, technology, tools, processes, and procedures. Solid knowledge of coding practices, testing, and debugging to develop and maintain resilient automated test scripts; hands-on experience writing automated scripts using industry standard frameworks. Hands-on debugging and problem-solving skills; investigates and analyzes potential solutions to problems. Foundational knowledge of in-scope TD business and systems, practices, business/organization, Bank standards. Ability to drive work effort, own tasks, and estimate and prioritize activities for medium to moderately complex tasks. Leverage new/advanced techniques and approaches in testing and automation. Use existing procedures to solve routine problems; makes limited exceptions. Collaborative team player. Report to a Practice lead.
