About The Business
Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components.
Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

Key Responsibilities
- Knowledge on Information Technology category strategy for Data centre, network, compute, storage, backup, Disaster Recovery (DR), cloud, enterprise software, factory/Operational Technology (OT) systems (e.g., Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Building Management System (BMS)), cybersecurity, Engineering/EDA tools (if applicable), and End User Computing (EUC).
- Own annual/rolling Information Technology budgets should cost models, benchmarking, and business cases, partner with Finance Controllers for capitalization and depreciation policies.
- Lead market scans, vendor shortlists, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) vs partner strategies; run RFPs/RFIs/RFQs and commercial/technical evaluations with clear scorecards.
- Negotiate Master Services Agreements (MSA), Statements of Work (SOW), Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC)/Comprehensive Maintenance Contracts (CMC), warranties, spares, penalties/service credits, service level terms, and exit provisions.
- Manage software licensing (subscription, enterprise agreements, node locked, floating, named/concurrent), true ups/true downs, audit defence, and compliance.
- Track and govern Capex/Opex, variance analysis, and unit cost dashboards; drive demand shaping and spec optimization.
- Implement total cost of ownership (TCO) & should cost models for core categories (e.g., racks, power/cooling, servers, storage tiers, interconnects, cloud services, backup licenses).
- For Data Centre: Techno commercial knowledge on racks, power distribution, cooling, Structured Cabling, Network (LAN/WAN/SD WAN), firewalls, servers, GPUs/HPC, SAN/NAS, backup, Disaster Recovery, Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM), monitoring, and managed services.
- For FAB/OT: collaborate with Projects/Facilities/Manufacturing Information Technology for shop floor connectivity, cleanroom Information Technology, MES, SCADA, BMS, time sensitive networks, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) gateways, cybersecurity for OT, and HPC/storage used by design/test.
- For Cloud: negotiate reserved instances, savings plans, data egress terms; enforce tagging, budget alerts, Cloud Financial Operations (FinOps) policies.
- Build dashboards for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): savings, cycle times, license utilization, support metrics, SLA adherence, and vendor risk.
Additional Technical Requirements
- Demonstrated techno‑commercial acumen: translating technical specs into commercial levers (lifecycle, energy, space, cooling, redundancy, performance).
- Strong experience with contracts, license models, support/maintenance constructs, and service level frameworks.
- Proven cost control and budget governance experience within Finance.
- Exposure to semiconductor/FAB or mission‑critical facilities (pharma, hyperscale Data Center, telecom).
- Hands‑on with ERP (SAP/Oracle), e‑procurement (Ariba/Coupa), Contract Lifecycle Management (Icertis/Coupa CLM), ServiceNow, Cloud Financial Operations (FinOps) dashboards, Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering—Computer Science/Information Technology/Electronics/Electrical—or Commerce/Finance/CA/Auditor with strong Information Technology orientation).

- 8+ years in Information Technology procurement/sourcing with at least 5 years owning Data Center and enterprise software categories.
