As a Blockchain/Web3 Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge blockchain solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of core Web3 and blockchain fundamentals, coupled with hands-on experience in smart contract development and node operations.

You will contribute to building secure and scalable decentralized applications, ensuring robust infrastructure and seamless integration of Web3 components.

Must-Have Technical/Functional Skills

• Core Web3 / Blockchain Skills: Strong understanding of blockchain fundamentals including transactions, blocks, gas/fees, wallets/keys, RPC, finality, and consensus basics.
• Hands-on experience with smart contracts, primarily Solidity, and proficient use of development tooling such as Hardhat, Foundry, Truffle, or Remix.
• Experience working with EVM-based chains (Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, BSC) or enterprise chains (Hyperledger Fabric, Corda, Quorum), depending on project requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

Smart Contract Engineering & Web3 Development

• Design, develop, and maintain smart contracts (using Solidity/Vyper or relevant stack) in alignment with product and rigorous security requirements.
• Build robust backend and Web3 components essential for contract interaction, including transaction orchestration, signature flows, nonce management, and sophisticated gas strategies.
• Perform Web3 SDK integrations to enhance application functionality and connectivity.
• Develop and manage comprehensive contract deployment pipelines, covering ABI/versioning, migration strategies, upgrade patterns (such as proxy patterns), and meticulous release coordination.
• Implement secure patterns for contracts to mitigate vulnerabilities and ensure integrity.
• Support thorough smart contract testing processes to validate functionality and security.

Node Operations & Infrastructure

• Deploy, configure, and operate blockchain nodes and their supporting infrastructure, including full nodes, archival nodes, RPC endpoints, and validator nodes (where applicable).
• Manage node upgrades, chain configuration changes, and respond promptly to incidents on production networks.
• Implement operational tooling for critical functions such as node health checks, RPC performance monitoring, log aggregation, and alerting systems.
• Handle blockchain-specific reliability concerns, including re-org handling, finality considerations, peer connectivity, RPC failover mechanisms, and effective rate limiting strategies.
