Broad outline of the Role
Responsible for driving day-to-day IT operations across Linux platforms (SUSE, Ubuntu, RedHat, CentOS). This is an operational role requiring proactive management of system stability, incident resolution, and support services. Guidance from senior engineers may be sought to ensure quality outcomes and adherence to best practices.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3–4 years of hands-on experience managing Linux servers in enterprise environments.
Other Knowledge & Skills
- Strong experience with system installation, configuration, and administration on Linux platforms (SUSE, Ubuntu, RedHat, CentOS).
- Good understanding of IT operational processes, monitoring tools, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python, or Perl) for automation tasks.
- Knowledge of system security, patch management, and backups.
- Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, KVM) and cloud environments is a plus.
