What an LX Copy Editor Really Does
Think of yourself as the Final Gatekeeper for TaskUs and the business, helping to ensure that every piece of information we share is accurate, clear, and perfectly aligned with the future of autonomous driving. Imagine yourself going to work with one thing on your mind: Ensuring the highest standard of quality and consistency for the documentation and training materials that power some of the world's most disruptive technology. Your role was designed to audit requirements, refine technical content, and uphold the integrity of the clients brand.
You like being part of a team that delivers excellence. You enjoy partnering with Technical Writers and Training & Design teams to understand the nuances of their work, providing the 'second set of eyes' that turns good content into world-class documentation. You care deeply about the overall business and look for ways to add value through meticulous attention to detail. You're empathetic and know how to provide constructive feedback to creators at all technical levels. You manage yourself and your time well and like being held accountable for the accuracy of your results.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance & Auditing: Perform rigorous quality checks on content produced by Technical Writers and Training & Design teams to ensure 100% accuracy and alignment with the business's specific standards.
- Technical Proofreading: Edit, clarify, and proofread complex technical documents, ensuring they are free of errors and that technical jargon is translated into plain, safe, and actionable language.
- Feedback & Calibration: Work alongside creators to provide clear, actionable feedback on their work, helping to upskill the team and maintain a consistent 'the business voice.'
- Style Guide Stewardship: Maintain and improve team processes and style guidelines, ensuring all content follows established branding and formatting rules.
- Content Testing: Review and test published documents and training modules to ensure they are searchable, effective, and meet the needs of the end-user.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Manage cross-functional relationships to fully understand the 'why' behind a process before approving the final copy for client delivery.
- Process Innovation: Identify recurring quality gaps and develop innovative solutions or training 'quick-hits' to resolve complex writing or design tasks.
- Data-Driven Quality: Use quality metrics and error-tracking to identify trends, providing well-reasoned analysis to leadership on how to improve overall content health.
Qualifications Summary
You will serve as the final authority on quality, ensuring that all operating guidelines, knowledge bases, and customer-facing content meet the exacting standards required by our clients. You will not just 'fix commas'-you will act as a Quality Analyst, auditing the work of Technical Writers and Training & Design teams to ensure technical precision, safety-first communication, and brand consistency. By collaborating with SMEs and product designers, you will bridge the gap between complex autonomous vehicle technology and the people who need to understand it, ensuring that every piece of content is searchable, effective, and flawless.
