Job Description

Open Source Applied Engineer

One of our clients, Taskify AI, is seeking an exceptional Open Source Applied Engineer with deep expertise in Python, Java, C, JavaScript, or TypeScript to collaborate on high-impact, globally distributed engineering projects. This role is ideal for engineers who demonstrate strong programming fundamentals and have an active track record of meaningful contributions to established open-source repositories. You will help design and evaluate coding systems across multiple languages, contributing to research and engineering improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop structured evaluation frameworks for coding tasks across JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, and C
  • Create comprehensive test cases to assess system performance across varied engineering scenarios
  • Analyze system behavior against real-world use cases to identify strengths and areas for improvement
  • Document and communicate findings clearly to support ongoing system optimization
  • Contribute insights into performance, architecture, and code quality best practices

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated open-source contributions within the past 12 months (GitHub or equivalent platforms)
  • Strong expertise in at least one of the following: Python, Java, C, JavaScript, or TypeScript
  • Deep familiarity with commonly used libraries, frameworks, and tooling ecosystems
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, and performance optimization
  • Proficiency with Git and CI/CD workflows
  • Experience collaborating in distributed, asynchronous engineering environments
  • Ability to work independently and proactively identify improvement opportunities
