Freelance Writing Specialist

Role Overview

One of our clients, partnering with a leading AI research team, is seeking a Freelance Writing Specialist to contribute to a large-scale supervised fine-tuning (SFT) initiative. This project aims to enhance how advanced language models respond to real-world questions. As an independent contractor, you'll apply strong writing and critical thinking skills on a flexible, project-based schedule, ideal for those interested in applied AI research.

Key Responsibilities

• Create realistic prompts reflecting natural human inquiry across various general topics.
• Review and edit AI-generated responses for clarity, accuracy, and overall usefulness.
• Write high-quality human-authored responses for selected prompts.
• Generate small variations of prompts to thoroughly test nuanced differences in model behavior.
• Evaluate AI responses based on varying lengths, tones, and instructional styles.
• Identify and document ambiguities, weaknesses, or failure cases within model outputs.

Ideal Qualifications

• Current undergraduate or graduate student, or a recent graduate.
• Demonstrated strong written communication and critical thinking capabilities.
• Ability to synthesize complex information clearly and accurately.
• High attention to detail, particularly when comparing similar written responses.
• Proficiency in working independently and managing time effectively in a remote setting.

Engagement Details

• Fully remote and asynchronous work, allowing you to set your own schedule.
• Expected commitment: approximately 10–40 hours per week.
• Project-based engagement, with potential for extensions based on ongoing project needs.
• Work performed strictly on an independent contractor basis.

Compensation & Contract Terms

This role offers a compensation rate of $35–$45 per hour, dependent on experience and performance. The position is classified as an independent contractor.
