Overview

The Lead UX Product Designer / Prototyper role at Target focuses on blending strategy and craft to simplify complex digital experiences. You will build high-fidelity prototypes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive alignment, test new design concepts, and shape Target's digital future.

Responsibilities

  • Build high-fidelity, multi-sensory prototypes using interaction, motion, sound and visuals.
  • Use rapid prototyping and testing to gauge feasibility and desirability of concepts.
  • Mentor and lead design sprints in a cross-functional setup.
  • Translate ambiguous opportunities into clear experience models and journeys.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to integrate design strategy and execution.

About the Team

The Emerging Experiences team is dedicated to imagining and prototyping future guest experiences across digital and physical touchpoints. They work closely with product, engineering, brand, and enterprise strategy to bring innovative ideas to life.

About You

  • 7+ years in UX with senior or lead experience.
  • Expertise in high-fidelity prototyping and familiarity with tools like Figma, Principle, Framer, etc.
  • Strong communication skills with emphasis on storytelling and design systems.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring designers.
  • Passion for inclusive design and creating accessible, joyful experiences.

Highly Relevant Experience

  • Motion design, animation, or sound design for interactive experiences.
  • Familiarity with GenAI tools in prototyping workflows.
  • Background in service design or omni-channel experience strategy.
  • Experience in leading design sprints or early-stage product initiatives.
