Overview
The Lead UX Product Designer Prototyper at Target is responsible for translating complex digital experience challenges into tangible, high-fidelity prototypes. This role blends strategy and craft, using prototyping as a core tool for alignment, exploration, and storytelling to create engaging and inclusive digital experiences.
Responsibilities
- Build high-fidelity, multi-sensory prototypes using interaction, motion, sound, and visuals.
- Utilize rapid prototyping and testing to evaluate concept feasibility and impact.
- Advance Target’s prototyping practice by exploring new tools and workflows.
- Mentor designers in prototyping, experimentation, and storytelling craft.
- Lead cross-functional design sprints to explore emerging behaviors and tech opportunities.
- Translate fuzzy opportunities into clear experience models and service blueprints.
- Design scalable systems and interaction models for omni-channel platforms.
- Collaborate with senior leaders across product, UX, marketing, and stores.
About the Team & Culture

About You
- 7+ years of experience in UX, including senior or lead roles.
- Strong prototyping skills at multiple fidelities using modern tools.
- Fluency in design systems, UX patterns, and modern interaction paradigms.
- Excellent communication and storytelling abilities.
- Experience in leading cross-functional efforts and design sprints.
- A passion for inclusive design, accessibility, and human-centered innovation.
