Job Description
About Us
As a Fortune 50 company with more than 400,000 team members worldwide, Target is an iconic brand and one of America's leading retailers. Joining Target means promoting a culture of mutual care and respect and striving to make the most meaningful and positive impact. Becoming a Target team member means joining a community that values different voices and lifts each other up. Here, we believe your unique perspective is important, and you'll build relationships by being authentic and respectful.
Team Overview
A role in Strategy, Product, and Innovation (SPI) means creating industry-leading intelligence solutions to drive best-in-class omnichannel guest experiences at the lowest cost to Target. The TTOPS (Target Transportation Operating Systems) product team sits within SPI and is responsible for the delivery of product outcomes which enable the future transportation operating model. Transportation’s role within Target’s Supply Chain is critical, serving as the connective tissue that enables inventory movement across every stage of our network — from sourcing to the guest. This includes the International First Mile, where we manage the global flow of goods from origin markets and suppliers into Target’s network, along with Global Trade and Tariff Management, which ensures compliance with international trade regulations, optimizes duty and tariff strategies, and mitigates risk across our import and export operations. The Domestic First Mile connects U.S. suppliers and vendors to our distribution network; the Middle Mile moves inventory efficiently between facilities; and the Last Mile ensures timely and reliable delivery to our guests.
Product Teams at Target Corporation are accountable for the delivery of business outcomes enabled through technology and analytic products that are easy to use, easily maintained, and highly reliable. Product teams have one shared backlog that is inclusive of all products, technology, and design work.
Role Overview
As a strategic and product leader, you will drive initiatives that deliver transformational improvements in supply chain visibility, accuracy, efficiency, and cost optimization. Your work will have a wide-reaching impact, supporting a diverse user base that includes suppliers, carriers, and internal Target teams, leveraging both third-party and custom-built applications.
As the Product Director for Transportation for International first mile and Global Trade Applications, you will lead the vision, strategy, and development of the technology platforms that enable inventory movement across Target’s global supply chain — from international origins to the United States. You will oversee a portfolio of applications supporting transportation execution, including solutions for booking management, Global Trade and Tariff Management, end-to-end visibility, and flow path optimization across the International. This role will focus on building and scaling digital capabilities that ensure compliance with global trade regulations, improve transit time accuracy, and balance speed, cost, and sustainability across our logistics network. You will partner closely with Global Supply Chain and Logistics (GSCL) business partners, Finance, and Technology teams to align priorities, integrate data foundations, and deliver user-focused products that drive measurable business value.
You will be accountable for building, coaching, and mentoring a strong team of product owners while also building a strong team culture of progress, transparency, and efficiency across Product teams. You will be responsible to elevate your collective team’s performance by providing insightful, motivating, and constructive feedback to all roles on the team while also working with senior leadership and peers across pyramids to negotiate and remove execution related barriers for your teams.
You will drive product discovery with key stakeholders to validate hypotheses and concepts with customers before committing engineering time, as you lead highly complex work across multiple pyramids, with interrelated specialties. You will leverage data and analytics to provide competitive analysis, drive decision making, assess the health and effectiveness of your products and related P&L impacts, and to deliver recommendations to key stakeholders.
It will be critical that you possess an understanding of retail or similar areas, relevant technologies and design principles in order to drive innovative and scalable solutions across multiple pyramids within Target.
