Original Job Summary

Position Overview

The Drafting Summer Student at TAQA Group will work with a team committed to excellence, safety, and sustainability. Reporting to the Manager, Operations Engineering and Process Safety, you will assist our Drafter with a high-volume workload project over the summer term in Calgary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams in AutoCAD from field red lines
  • Modify existing AutoCAD drawings per project requirements
  • Assess and re-number existing drawings to a new naming convention
  • Populate Document Management System with new and existing drawings

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an engineering technologist or design/drafting Diploma/Certificate program, returning Fall 2026
  • Good proficiency with AutoCAD, including the ProCAD plant design suite
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with common engineering drawing types is an asset
  • Eager to learn with a keen eye for detail
