Job Summary

The Quality Control Technician ensures that products meet company and industry quality standards through testing, inspection, and documentation. This role is vital in maintaining product quality, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring safety compliance.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods.
  • Record, analyze, and report deviations or non-conformances.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
  • Maintain accurate quality documentation including logs, reports, and certifications.
  • Collaborate with production teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Calibrate and maintain testing equipment per company standards.
  • Support root cause analysis and problem-solving for quality issues.
  • Monitor safety, health, and environmental compliance.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe work environment.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles and inspection methods.
  • Skilled in using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
  • Familiarity with statistical quality control and sampling methods.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and judgment skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or quality control.
  • Experience with testing equipment and procedures.
  • Quality certification (e.g., CQI, Six Sigma) is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
