Patient Access Specialist

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and answer telephone calls to provide assistance
  • Schedule appointment requests while accommodating special needs when necessary
  • Communicate insurance participation, financial responsibilities, and time of service policies to patients
  • Obtain and register patients' insurance and demographic information in EPIC
  • Perform real-time insurance verification and address outstanding Epic work queue accounts

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, including proficiency in medical terminology
  • Bachelor's Degree or college-level coursework preferred
  • Prior high-volume customer service experience in a call center environment preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a healthcare-related customer service role
  • Familiarity with EPIC or similar medical record systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle high-pressure situations
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
