Patient Access Specialist

Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and answer telephone calls to provide assistance
- Schedule appointment requests while accommodating special needs when necessary
- Communicate insurance participation, financial responsibilities, and time of service policies to patients
- Obtain and register patients' insurance and demographic information in EPIC
- Perform real-time insurance verification and address outstanding Epic work queue accounts
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, including proficiency in medical terminology
- Bachelor's Degree or college-level coursework preferred
- Prior high-volume customer service experience in a call center environment preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a healthcare-related customer service role
- Familiarity with EPIC or similar medical record systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
