What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Perform charge capture audits by comparing medical record documentation against itemized bills.
• Identify charging, coding, or clinical documentation issues and collaborate with ancillary departments.
• Prepare modifications to patient charges to ensure appropriate revenue integrity.
• Respond to third-party payer audit requests in collaboration with relevant departments.
• Maintain and analyze audit activity reports to identify patterns and improvement opportunities.

Qualifications

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent, minimum 2 years of experience in medical coding, active coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA, ability to analyze and resolve patient claims held by billing edits, and strong understanding of charge capture processes and documentation requirements.

Preferred: 3-4 years of experience in charge audit or finance-related roles, experience in coding and/or reimbursement, and Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification.
