What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician
- Interview patients and measure vital signs, including pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height
- Record or input patient information into medical records accurately
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations

What Is Required (Qualifications)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program
- Minimum of six months of CMA/RMA experience
- Certification through the American Medical Technologist (AMT), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Health Career Association (NHA), MedCA, or equivalent as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including standing, walking, and manual dexterity
