Job Summary

The Security Architect – AI, Cloud & Secure Engineering is responsible for designing and implementing secure architecture across AI platforms, cloud infrastructure, and modern software engineering environments. This role partners closely with engineering, cloud operations, platform, and data science teams to embed security into AI systems, cloud-native architectures, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and DevSecOps pipelines supporting both academic and business systems. This is a hands-on, high-impact role that balances business priorities, emerging cyber threats, and secure engineering practices. The architect establishes secure-by-design patterns, evaluates emerging technologies, mentors technical teams, and influences enterprise security strategy across multi-cloud platforms, AI/ML workloads, and modern application architectures. The architect balances business priorities, emerging cyber threats, and secure engineering practices to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, availability, and responsible use of enterprise data and AI systems. This role will establish secure design patterns, evaluate emerging technologies, and guide development teams in implementing secure-by-design solutions across multi-cloud platforms, AI/ML workloads, and modern application architectures. The position also mentors security and engineering teams while influencing enterprise security strategy for cloud platforms, AI solutions, automation, and software delivery pipelines.

What You’ll Do

Architecture & Security Strategy
  • Define, maintain, and evolve enterprise security architecture for AI systems, cloud platforms, and modern application environments.
  • Develop and document secure design patterns for microservices, APIs, containerized workloads, and serverless architectures.
  • Establish security standards and reference architectures for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automated deployment pipelines.
AI & Data Security
  • Design and implement security controls for AI, machine learning, and generative AI platforms.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to data leakage, model poisoning, prompt injection, and AI supply chain vulnerabilities.
  • Partner with data science and analytics teams to support secure model training, deployment, and governance.
  • Help establish governance, monitoring, and controls for the responsible and secure use of enterprise AI.
Cloud Security & Secure Platforms
  • Architect secure solutions across multicloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Design security architectures covering identity and access management, network segmentation, data protection, workload security, and monitoring.
  • Build and socialize security patterns for Kubernetes, containers, APIs, and distributed systems.
  • Collaborate with cloud and platform teams to ensure secure implementation of infrastructure and services.
DevSecOps & Secure Software Development
  • Integrate security throughout the CI/CD pipelines and the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Implement automated security controls including SAST, DAST, SCA, IaC scanning, container security, and runtime protections.
  • Provide architectural guidance on secure coding, API security, and microservices security.
  • Promote shift-left and secure-by-design development practices.
Risk Management, Leadership & Collaboration
  • Conduct architecture reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments for new and existing systems.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert during security incidents affecting cloud or application environments.
  • Mentor engineers and architects on secure architecture and engineering best practices.
  • Contribute to enterprise security standards, policies, and long-term technical roadmaps.
