About the Role: Geological Technician AI Trainer

Join our customer's innovative team as a Geological Technician AI Trainer. This remote, hourly contract position is perfect for geosciences experts looking to shape the future of artificial intelligence. You will leverage your extensive field and laboratory knowledge to train AI systems, ensuring they accurately reflect real-world geological practices through data annotation and technical guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to develop cutting-edge AI solutions for geological data analysis and interpretation.
• Utilize and provide instruction on a variety of laboratory instrumentation, including electronic, sonic, and nuclear devices, across exploration, production, and research environments.
• Review, annotate, and provide expert feedback on complex geological datasets, detailed sample analyses, and operational records to significantly improve AI model accuracy.
• Prepare precise sketches, geological maps, and intricate cross-sections to support advanced machine learning workflows.
• Analyze mud, drill cuttings, and various borehole data (pressure, temperature, and related metrics) specifically for AI training purposes.
• Compile, meticulously log, and organize field and laboratory data for thorough analysis and comprehensive AI dataset preparation.
• Actively participate in virtual surveys, exploratory project meetings, and crucial knowledge-sharing sessions with both technical and non-technical teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Geological Technician or in related roles such as Core Inspector, Geotechnician, or Geological E-Logger.
• Advanced knowledge of laboratory and field instrumentation, precise measurement techniques, and established geological testing protocols.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on clarity essential for remote collaboration.
• Demonstrated strong attention to detail in compiling, logging, and interpreting diverse geological data.
• Proficiency in preparing accurate sketches, comprehensive geological maps, and detailed cross-sectional diagrams.
• Experience assisting in geological, geophysical, geochemical, or oceanographic surveys and exploratory drilling programs.
• A genuine passion for advancing AI through precise data labeling, thorough annotation, and deep subject-matter expertise.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in training AI or machine learning models within scientific or technical domains.
• Background in environmental sampling, materials testing, or geoscience research.
• Familiarity with digital tools and platforms designed for remote collaboration, efficient dataset management, and seamless AI workflow integration.
