Manufacturing Engineer at Manufacturing Engineer
The Manufacturing Engineer at Talan Products plays a key role in driving product development, process optimization, and Lean manufacturing initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to apply technical expertise to improve operations, support new product launches, and implement advanced technologies in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Manufacturing Engineer I
- Product Development Support: Assist with design, prototyping, and validation of new product launches; develop and maintain work instructions and process documentation.
- Process Optimization: Collect and analyze production data, recommend process improvements, reduce scrap and increase productivity.
- Lean Manufacturing: Participate in Lean projects including Kaizen events, 5S implementation, and process mapping.
- Technology Integration: Assist with deployment of new technologies such as MES, automation tools, and warehouse management systems; provide training and change management support.
Manufacturing Engineer II
- Leadership in Product Development: Lead projects including timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder coordination along with the development of tooling and automation.
- Advanced Process Engineering: Perform detailed process analyses, design pilot projects to test and scale new methods.
- Lean & Continuous Improvement: Lead Lean initiatives such as standardized work, 5S, and flow improvements; mentor junior engineers.
- Technology Leadership: Serve as subject matter expert for technology implementations and develop training programs.
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) is required. Experience ranges from 0-3 years for Manufacturing Engineer I to 3+ years for Manufacturing Engineer II. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office is necessary. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.
Additional Requirements
Prior experience in a manufacturing or engineering setting is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate an ability to handle progressively challenging projects and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
