Job Description

Join our Product Strategy team reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer. As a Software Engineer Identity, you will build proof-of-concepts, work directly with customers on integrations, and demonstrate how Tailscale's connectivity and identity layer solves real problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build POCs showcasing identity and connectivity use cases for AI agents and tooling.
  • Integrate Tailscale for internal VPN replacement and product embedding.
  • Create reference architectures, documentation, community content, and presentations.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience with developing and operating identity systems.
  • Proficiency in authentication protocols such as OAuth, OIDC, SAML, and SCIM.
  • Experience in identity infrastructure including IdP platforms and directory services.
  • Knowledge in access control models, MFA, passwordless authentication, and session management.
  • Technical skills in Go and/or Python, third-party API integrations, and basic networking.
  • Exposure to AI/LLM for planning and tool development.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Tailscale networking solutions and agentic AI tools.
  • Background in developer tooling and multi-cloud networking challenges.
  • Participation in open source communities.
