Principal Software Engineer | Cybersecurity Platform
Remote (US Only) & must have RTW in the US | $150,000 - $230,000 Base + Bonus
A growing cybersecurity technology company is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to take technical ownership of a mission-critical MDR platform. This is a high-impact role for an experienced Go engineer who thrives building scalable backend systems, driving architecture decisions, and influencing product direction.
You'll lead development across a suite of security-focused applications responsible for processing large-scale telemetry, threat intelligence, log analytics, and endpoint visibility.
What You'll Do
- Own and evolve core backend services built in Go
- Architect and scale distributed systems handling high-volume security telemetry
- Drive technical strategy and key architectural decisions
- Lead development of a next-generation endpoint/security agent
- Partner closely with engineering and security stakeholders
- Mentor developers and help shape the future engineering team
Must-Have Experience
- 6+ years in software engineering, including 4+ years of hands-on Go development
- Deep expertise with Go concurrency, performance tuning, profiling, memory management, goroutines, channels, and distributed systems
- Experience building and supporting production-scale backend services
- Background developing security products such as MDR, EDR, XDR, SIEM, threat detection, or related cybersecurity platforms
- Strong understanding of telemetry ingestion, endpoint data, logging pipelines, and cloud-native architectures
- Experience with containers, orchestration, CI/CD, and modern cloud environments (AWS preferred)
