Position Overview

Systems Engineering Solutions Corporation is a leading provider of advanced information technology solutions and professional services to U.S. federal government agencies. The firm is prime for an $807m task order in support of the General Services Administration (GSA) Office of Digital Infrastructure Technologies (IDT) DIGIT task order. This role focuses on Unix Computer Systems Engineering/Architecture to support GSA platform management services.

Role Responsibilities

  • Install, monitor, and upgrade UNIX system software.
  • Create and maintain UNIX user accounts and access management systems.
  • Develop standardized backup, recovery, and security policies.
  • Apply patches and upgrades, and resolve hardware/software issues.
  • Analyze software changes, forecast space requirements, and implement best practices.
  • Provide Level/Tier III support and supervise Unix technicians.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors for timely security patch releases.
  • Assist in COOP/DR exercises and maintain comprehensive documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Public Trust Clearance by start date.
  • ITILv4 Foundation Training and Certification (or to be obtained within 120 days).
  • Minimum 5+ years Unix support in a large enterprise environment.
  • Expertise in RHEL, with experience in Solaris and Ubuntu.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator, Red Hat Certified Engineer, and VMware Certified Professional.
  • Ability to work 24x7x365 on-call rotation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with wired/wireless networking, VLAN, VPN, IPV4, IPV6.
  • Experience with ServiceNow for ticket and inventory management.
  • Analytical, interpersonal, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
