Overview
The Department of Biology at Syracuse University invites applications for a tenure-track position in the broad fields of Ecology and Evolution. The candidate will complement and build on existing research strengths and is expected to develop a rigorous externally funded research program, as well as participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring.
Research & Collaboration
Research spans evolutionary genomics, microbial ecology, reproductive evolution, organismal functional morphology, community and ecosystem ecology, and more. Areas of interest include global change biology, functional genomics, behavioral, physiological, computational approaches, acoustic and satellite remote sensing, and field experiments.
Facilities & Environment
The research lab will be housed in the world-class Life Sciences Complex with extensive collaboration opportunities with the BioInspired Institute and SUNY ESF. Syracuse University supports a diverse and welcoming academic community.
Responsibilities
- Teach two courses per academic year (1:1 load).
- Develop and lead an externally funded research program.
- Engage in graduate and undergraduate teaching and mentoring.
- Participate in departmental service and collaborative research projects.
Compensation & Location
