Sr Director Regulatory Reporting

Overview

The Sr Director Regulatory Reporting at Synovus is responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end regulatory reporting process at a large financial institution. This role ensures compliance with US regulations and includes preparing and reviewing multiple filings such as FR Y-9C, FR Y-9LP, Call Report, FR Y-15, FR Y-14M/Q series, and more.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full regulatory reporting process including filing reviews.
• Provide guidance on complex reporting rules and policy interpretation.
• Lead strategic initiatives and remediation efforts following regulatory findings.
• Collaborate with internal departments like Risk, Treasury, and Technology.
• Act as the liaison with external auditors and regulatory agencies.
• Drive process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency.
• Manage performance and development of team members.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
• At least 10+ years of experience in regulatory reporting with 5+ years in leadership.
• In-depth knowledge of banking regulations and reporting requirements.
• Experience with regulatory reporting systems such as AxiomSL or Nasdaq.
• Strong analytical, technical, and team management skills.
