Job Description

Job Summary: Medical Science Liaison

The Regional Medical Science Liaison (MSL) at Syneos Health Commercial Solutions serves as a key field-based point of contact for healthcare providers (HCPs), including clinical investigators. This role is crucial for delivering and facilitating medical education, communications, research, and scientific insight gathering activities. The Medical Science Liaison will provide scientific and medical data on both licensed and unlicensed products, adhering to local laws and regulations, and will act as a medical representative across a complex regional environment, with flexibility to support other countries as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge in cardiometabolic diseases, with specialized expertise in rare diseases like Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome (FCS) and Severe Hypertriglyceridemia (SHTG), along with comprehensive product knowledge.
  • Execute the medical and broader business strategy, ensuring activities are coordinated, aligned, and integrated within the team.
  • Serve as an external, credible scientific expert on disease areas and client products at various meetings, including HCP field meetings, medical conferences, advisory boards, and patient advocacy group meetings.
  • Identify and communicate key field insights related to client products and disease areas back to internal teams, leveraging these insights through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Facilitate clear communication between the business and investigators for both client trials and investigator-sponsored studies, addressing barriers to enrollment for pipeline assets.

Requirements

  • Advanced Degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) is essential.
  • Demonstrable experience in an MSL function, preferably with cardiometabolic or rare disease experience, or experience in endocrinology or lipidology.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical research design and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) in cardiology.
  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical research trial design and study analysis, including cost-effectiveness and HEOR evidence approaches.
  • Proven ability to build trust and maintain integrity with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), external clinical and scientific experts, investigators, HCPs, and institutions, as well as with peers.
  • Ability to convey complex scientific concepts tailored to various audiences, including affiliate staff and regional/global Medical Affairs leadership.
  • A good understanding of Health Authorities across the region is advantageous.
