Overview

Sympower is quickly scaling its flexible asset trading and optimization platform in Europe, with a focus on sizable BESS projects. As a Compliance Officer, you will ensure that trading and operational activities in electricity markets adhere to applicable regulatory requirements across regions.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with REMITII, MiFID II, EMIR and other regulations.
• Develop and maintain compliance monitoring tools and controls.
• Collaborate with risk, operations, legal, and technology teams.
• Advise on entering new geographic markets and product lines.
• Support trade reporting, audit processes and regulator liaison activities.
• Update policies, deliver training and foster ethical conduct.

Experience and Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in compliance in energy trading sectors.
• Strong understanding of BESS operations and market participation.
• Experience with trade surveillance and compliance monitoring systems.
• Regulatory fluency with European power market regulations.
• Fluent in English; additional European languages a plus.
• Hands-on approach with solid stakeholder management skills.
