About The Role
Symetra has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Compliance Analyst. In this role, you will provide product filing and operational compliance support for the Retirement (annuities) Division, identify compliance issues, and develop recommendations to promote disciplined growth.
You will consult on state filings strategy by preparing accurate filing materials promptly. Your responsibilities include offering analytical and project management support for nationwide initiatives, conducting research, presenting recommendations to senior analysts and leadership, and collaborating with other departments.
Additional duties involve developing and maintaining training materials and procedures, managing annual filings, implementing regulatory forms, and reviewing marketing materials for state filings.
What You Will Do
- Coordinate and prepare accurate filing materials for state submissions.
- Research, interpret and apply laws, regulations, and filing requirements.
- Draft policy and application forms in compliance with state laws.
- Prepare product filings and related compliance documentation.
- Respond to state inquiries and objections regarding filings.
- Consult on state-specific filing strategies and lead research initiatives.
- Monitor tasks, evaluate risks and provide solutions.
- Mentor lower-level analysts and offer subject-matter expertise.

Compensation
Salary Range: $77,600 – $129,400 plus eligibility for annual bonus programs.
Who You Are
- 8+ years of compliance experience.
- College degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience with product development, rate and form filings.
- Proficient in SERFF / APPIAN and MS Office Suite.
- Outstanding analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Remote Work & Infrastructure
This role is remote with strict internet requirements: minimum 100 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload using fiber, cable, or DSL. Satellite, cellular broadband, or dial-up are not permitted.
Identity Verification
