The Summer 2026 Internship Program is entirely remote, providing a virtual learning and working environment for 12 weeks.

Role Summary

The Software Test Engineer Intern will support the testing of ILD products by assisting with test case execution, maintaining testing documentation, and ensuring new and updated features work as expected. This role requires collaboration with team members, learning and applying testing best practices, and contributing to efforts to improve and streamline testing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Migrate ILD test artifacts into Symetra's TCM tool.
• Employ automated or manual testing approaches for new and updated functionality in ILD products.
• Utilize existing regression capabilities to execute repeatable test cases and identify opportunities for automation.
• Set up and leverage Playwright or Selenium to automate repetitive test cases, reducing manual testing efforts.
• Create and maintain test artifacts, adhering to ILD testing standards.
• Share knowledge of ILD testing standards to promote sustainability and reusability across the team.
• Actively participate in the Testing SIG (Special Interest Group).
• Contribute to the test automation strategy for non-web solutions.

Employer work visa sponsorship is not provided for this role. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States at hire and maintain this authorization throughout employment. As a remote-first organization, Symetra has specific internet connection standards: a minimum of 100 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload (Fiber, Cable, or DSL). Satellite or cellular broadband is not permissible.
