What We Need

The System Reliability Test Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and validating Symbotic’s automated robotic systems. This role involves working on Inbound and Outbound Adapter cells, Vertical Lifts, conveyors, and autonomous bots. The engineer becomes the system expert of Symbotic’s automation, covering mechanical, electrical/electronic, and pneumatic sub-systems. Excellent service and support for Commissioning, Testing, and Operations teams is essential.

What We Do

The System Reliability Test Engineer works within the Operations organization to prepare and execute testing and deployment procedures. The role partners with Customer Site Deployment teams to ensure successful system implementations at new customer sites.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform system inspections on automated storage and retrieval systems.
  • Adjust, calibrate, repair, replace, or modify system components.
  • Troubleshoot PLC issues, run SQL queries, and execute test plans using tools like Test Rail and Jiraira.
  • Communicate schedule impacts and corrective actions effectively.
  • Conduct minor utility work and assist in training team members.
  • Ensure continuous cleaning and adherence to 5S policies along with safety protocols.

What You’ll Need

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in electronics, automotive, automation, or manufacturing.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical systems maintenance, preferably electro-mechanical.
  • Basic knowledge in Excel, PowerPoint, and networking fundamentals.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills with ability to read technical documents.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Our Environment

This is a remote, field-based position requiring up to 75% travel. The role demands a valid driver’s license, ability to drive or fly to client sites, and physical capability to work in challenging conditions including work at heights, heavy lifting, and use of PPE on construction sites.
