The Role: Media and Communications Officer, Kids Research
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Media and Communications Officer, Kids Research to join SCHN's Communications and Engagement Directorate. In this collaborative and supportive environment, you will play a crucial role in promoting SCHN as a leader in paediatric research and healthcare.
Using your expertise, you will work with diverse stakeholders to develop communication campaigns and create audience-specific content for various platforms, including the intranet, website, written publications, and social media. This role also involves pitching compelling stories to national and international media outlets.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a vibrant digital presence for key priority areas and facilitating onsite visits with essential stakeholders to showcase the impact of research for our staff, patients, and families. This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional seeking new challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute communications strategies across digital channels.
- Handle media enquiries efficiently and proactively.
- Generate engaging content for various platforms.
- Maintain and update the Kids Research (KR) website.
- Contribute to the delivery of SCHN and KR strategic communication priorities.
About You
We're looking for an individual who possesses:
- Previous experience with Content Management Systems and familiarity with UX/UI design principles.
- Demonstrated experience in creating audience-focused content suitable for diverse channels, including social media, traditional media, and web.
- A degree in media relations and/or journalism, equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience.
