About the Position

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will support the development and maintenance of our data systems. Your role will ensure timely and accurate data flow and act as the go-to problem solver when unusual system events occur.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build efficient data organization, storage, and analysis frameworks.
  • Create processes and enforce data management policies.
  • Develop techniques for quality data collection and secure data handling.
  • Monitor system events and respond to anomalies.
  • Establish procedures for data sharing with leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support daily use of data systems and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Assist with reporting and data extraction as needed.
  • Analyze system performance and suggest technology upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot data-related problems and oversee necessary modifications.

The Successful Candidate

We are seeking an organized, deadline-oriented professional with a strong analytical mindset and excellent communication skills. Attention to detail is paramount.

Some Requirements

  • Expertise in SQL Server (MS and PostgreSQL), Tableau, R & Python
  • Experience with platforms such as Dataiku
  • 7+ years as a data engineer, analyst, or similar role
  • Solid understanding of data administration, warehousing, and star schemas
  • Familiarity with predictive analysis and data visualization techniques
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and knowledge of spatial databases as a plus

Education & Computer Skills

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required. Advanced degrees and certifications are a plus. Proficiency with MS Office, Slack, and MS Teams is essential.

Other Information

This is a 100% U.S.-based remote role. Candidates must reside in AL, AZ, FL, GA, KY, MA, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, or WI. Some travel for team meetings and training may be required. Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet work space are essential.

Compensation & Benefits

The typical base pay range is $125,000 - $150,000 per year plus benefits. Swyfft offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability insurances, 401K with matching contributions, PTO, company holidays, and more.
