About The Role: VP of Marketing
The VP of Marketing at Swooped will be the architect of the organization's global presence, defining not only its market approach but also its fundamental significance. This leader will establish the vision for the brand, narrative, and go-to-market strategy, translating Swooped's mission into a compelling story that resonates with members, partners, and the wider cultural landscape.
This individual will build and maintain a distinctive brand that is human, aspirational, and trustworthy, while simultaneously designing go-to-market strategies that drive growth across various channels and member life stages. This role demands a blend of imaginative thinking and rigorous execution, shaping long-term brand equity in close partnership with product, legal, and revenue teams to convert insights into actionable strategies.
Fundamentally, this position is for a masterful storyteller and systems-thinker—someone capable of understanding the current world, articulating the world Swooped is creating, and inspiring others to believe in it.
Key Responsibilities
- Define Swooped's positioning, brand architecture, and visual identity, ensuring consistent expression across physical spaces, experiences, and digital channels.
- Own annual and quarterly marketing planning, set clear campaign and creative briefs, and actively drive execution when timelines are stringent.
- Lead a full-funnel marketing team encompassing paid, lifecycle, community, and brand, with a clear perspective on how each channel contributes to growth, retention, and revenue.
- Establish and manage marketing health metrics, define the KPI stack, conduct weekly reviews, and provide transparent quarterly readouts to the executive team and board.
- Act as the voice of the customer, translating insights into sharp claims, creative direction, and product or packaging decisions.
- Hire, coach, and inspire a high-performing team, establish operating rhythms, manage agencies and creators to clear performance standards, and uphold a high bar for craft and speed.
Required Qualifications
- 7-10 years of experience in marketing or a related field; marketplace experience is a distinct advantage.
- A keen eye for cultural trends and current content, with a strong ability to integrate the brand's viewpoint within these contexts.
- Eagerness to be hands-on and involved, balanced with the ability to apply scalable frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills, clear communication, systems thinking, and a proven track record of driving cross-functional partnership and accountability.
- A natural storyteller, capable of transforming raw product truths into memorable, shareable, and actionable narratives. Experience building an internal content department/studio is a plus.
- Possesses an ownership mindset: able to identify and commit to key initiatives, eliminate distractions, and maintain high standards for execution and performance.

Compensation
The base salary for this VP of Marketing role ranges from $285,000 to $340,000, and includes equity. The final offer depends on factors such as experience, transferable skills, business needs, impact, and market data.
