About The Senior Manager, Technical Programs Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Technical Programs to lead a team of Technical Program Managers. This role is crucial for driving the successful execution of strategic programs in partnership with leaders across the Technology organization. As products and services continue to scale to meet accelerating business demands and expanding product lines, your expertise in technical program management will be essential for delivering exceptional products. You will also be responsible for actively developing and growing key TPM talent, evolving the team to ensure its continued success in facing new challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a distributed team of Technical Program Managers (TPMs) across various business units, fostering alignment among key stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Infrastructure, Operations, and Analytics leads and partners to define strategies and roadmaps, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Develop OKRs, establish priorities, and create operational models, working alongside your team to achieve them.
- Ensure high-quality program management and continuous technical skill development for your team.
- Establish and execute robust prioritization processes for programs within the Product and Engineering plans.
- Drive employee engagement and cultivate a high-performance culture, focusing on effective performance management, coaching, and career development. Create an environment where accountability, encouragement, and empowerment allow individuals to excel.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and maintain clear communication with cross-functional partners.
- Understand technical implementations at the architectural level, propose alternatives, ask clarifying questions to prioritize effectively, and continuously develop domain and technical knowledge.
- Proactively identify and resolve dependencies, evaluate risks, and communicate status updates to upper management and program stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3-5 years of experience managing technical program management teams.
- 7+ years of experience program managing technical implementations.
- Passion and drive to improve consumer finance.
- Commitment to building inclusive teams and team culture.
- Outstanding business judgment and excellent project management, problem-solving, and analysis skills.
- Organized and strategic approach to collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proven track record of successfully launching software products by driving complex large technology applications and geographically distributed backend systems.
- Clear and compelling written and verbal communication.
- Obsesses over details while ensuring timely delivery.
- Prior experience in FinTech, Payments, or Commerce is a significant plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Employees typically start at the lower end of the pay range, with compensation adjusted based on location, experience, and role-related skills. The comprehensive package includes a base salary, potential equity, monthly wellness/tech stipends, and fully covered medical, dental, and vision benefits. U.S. base pay ranges from $225K–$275K in select high-cost states and $200K–$250K elsewhere. Most roles are remote, with some requiring occasional or full in-office work.
