About The Senior Manager, Technical Programs Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Technical Programs to lead a team of Technical Program Managers. In this role, you will drive the successful execution of strategic technical programs in close partnership with leaders across the Technology organization. As products expand and the business accelerates, your expertise in technical program management will be crucial for delivering exceptional products. You will also be responsible for actively developing and growing TPM talent, evolving the team to meet new challenges and ensure future success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a distributed team of Technical Program Managers (TPM) across various business units, ensuring alignment among key stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Infrastructure, Operations, and Analytics leads to define strategies, map roadmaps, and align with organizational goals.
- Develop OKRs, establish priorities, and create operational models, working alongside your team to achieve them, while ensuring high-quality program management and ongoing technical skill development.
- Establish and implement a robust prioritization framework for programs within the Product and Engineering plans.
- Drive employee engagement and a high-performance culture, focusing on effective performance management, coaching, career development, and empowering team members through accountability.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and maintain clear communication with cross-functional partners.
- Understand technical implementation at the architecture level, propose alternatives, clarify priorities through insightful questions, and develop deep domain and technical knowledge.
- Proactively identify and resolve dependencies, evaluate risks, and communicate program status to senior management and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3-5 years of experience managing technical program management teams.
- 7+ years of experience program managing technical implementations.
- A passion for improving consumer finance, committed to building inclusive teams and culture.
- Outstanding business judgment, excellent project management, problem-solving, and analysis skills.
- Organized and strategic in collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proven track record of successfully launching software products, driving complex large technology applications and geographically distributed backend systems.
- Clear and compelling written and verbal communication.
- Obsessed with getting details right while meeting deadlines.
- Prior experience in FinTech, Payments, or Commerce is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is competitive and based on location, experience, and relevant skills. The total package includes base salary, potential equity, monthly wellness/tech stipends, and fully covered medical, dental, and vision benefits. U.S. base pay typically ranges from $225K–$275K in high-cost states and $200K–$250K elsewhere. Most roles are remote.
