About The Role
This entry-level Research Assistant role supports youth-centered research and translational science. The position focuses on understanding and improving the well-being of Black, Brown, and Queer young people through effective research organization and compelling communications.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain research and project tracking documents
- Recruit, schedule, track, and engage research participants
- Coordinate research activities including focus groups, interviews, and surveys
- Conduct literature reviews and data synthesis processes
- Present research findings through written and verbal communications
- Coordinate development of IRB protocols and event planning for convenings
- Support meetings with set-up, note-taking, and follow-up
- Manage internal evaluation activities
Required Education, Experience and Skills
A combination of education, work experience, and/or training relevant to research tasks is required. A Bachelor’s degree in fields such as psychology, education, anthropology, sociology, or public health is a plus.
- Experience with academic literature searches and reference management tools
- Strong project administration and research coordination skills
- Effective communication skills across diverse audiences
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with participants and collaborators
Term & Compensation
This is a two-year, full-time, term-limited position starting June 2026 with competitive compensation based on local market data. Hourly rates vary by region with a generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, internet stipends, wellness programs, paid time off, and 401K contributions.
In-Person and Travel Expectations
- Primary location: San Francisco Bay Area
- Approximately 1 day per week in-office if located in the Bay Area
- Domestic travel 4-6 times per year for conferences and meetings
- Quarterly week-long retreats in the SF Bay Area
