About The Role: IT Manager
Our client is seeking its first dedicated IT Manager to establish and scale its internal IT function, supporting growth towards 600+ global employees. This role ensures fast, low-friction IT outcomes while contributing to organizational scaling and compliance goals. Initially managing a third-party IT vendor, this individual will own IT outcomes, define processes, and be the internal point of accountability for all IT matters as the company expands. The IT Manager will report to the Head of People Operations, with a strong dotted line to the Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- IT Operations & End-User Experience: Own end-to-end IT operations, improving speed and consistency for onboarding, offboarding, laptop lifecycle, access management, and device security. Ensure reliable, scalable, and auditable IT processes. Act as the primary escalation point for IT issues, fostering urgency in resolution. Partner with People Ops and Engineering for seamless employee lifecycle support. Collaborate with Engineering and Security on laptop refresh cycles, software provisioning, patching, and endpoint security controls.
- Vendor & Tooling Management: Manage IT vendor relationships, including performance, SLAs, and cost-effectiveness. Evaluate opportunities to optimize, replace, or insource capabilities. Own tooling decisions for identity, endpoint management, and IT automation.
- Security, Compliance & Audit Partnership: Collaborate closely with Security and Engineering to ensure IT processes support SOC 2, ISO, and future compliance needs. Implement controls practically, balancing risk mitigation with employee velocity. Maintain audit-ready evidence for IT-owned controls and workflows, and help evolve guardrails, automation, and policies for predictable audits.
- Scaling with Intention: Apply best practices from high-growth environments thoughtfully. Anticipate future IT needs for 600–1,000 employees. Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Influence effectively without excessive process, understanding when structure and flexibility are paramount.

- Strong understanding of modern SaaS-based IT environments.
- Working knowledge of security and compliance concepts.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and transforming it into clarity.
- Strong judgment in balancing controls with operational speed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Rippling.
- Experience supporting globally distributed teams.
- Prior exposure to audits or compliance programs in fast-moving companies.
