About the Role: Fraud Ops Analyst at Swooped

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the fraud expert for clients: Conduct deep dives into sessions, users, and transactions to identify intricate fraud patterns. Transform manual reviews into repeatable insights, enhancing client fraud posture at scale. Manage active fraud attacks with urgency and precision during critical incidents and participate in an on-call rotation for full ownership of resolution.
  • Shape fraud strategy: Move beyond execution to recommend and optimize risk rules, balancing effective fraud prevention with a seamless customer experience. Influence model improvements through structured analysis and real-world feedback. Drive measurable outcomes, including reduced fraud rates, increased approval rates, and decreased false positives. Utilize SQL for analyzing large datasets and surfacing actionable insights, and present strategic recommendations to client or internal stakeholders with clarity.
  • Partner across the organization: Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Data Science teams to enhance the platform. Integrate real-world fraud learnings into product discussions and contribute to building scalable and repeatable fraud solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in fraud prevention, investigations, or risk management, with a strong preference for fintech/payments experience.
  • Strong SQL skills, demonstrating the ability to interrogate data beyond simple querying.
  • Experience with BigQuery, Metabase, or similar analytics tools.
  • Proven ability to influence client-side stakeholders with clear, data-driven recommendations.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous environments and taking initiative without explicit instructions.
  • Strong critical thinking and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex fraud concepts.
  • A high ownership mindset, demonstrating a proactive approach to resolving issues.

Compensation

The compensation for this role ranges from $95K S120K annually, includes equity, and offers multiple ranges based on experience and location.
