They serve as a doorway to the most important things – through them, individuals socialize with loved ones, work on passion projects, and explore curiosities. However, browsers on their own do not actively assist in organizing messy lives or composing ideas. The belief is that the browser can do much more, empowering and supporting the amazing things people do on the internet. To achieve this, a new browser is being built, designed to help users grow, create, and stay curious.
To accomplish this ambitious task, a diverse team of people from different backgrounds and experiences is being assembled. This is considered crucial to the mission, as a wide range of perspectives is needed to challenge assumptions and shape the browser through a bold, creative lens. Therefore, individuals from historically marginalized groups are especially encouraged to apply.
About the Business Operations Role
Our client is hiring for Business Operations to scale and optimize its operations, with a focus on how AI can transform the operational paradigm. This role is ideal for a strategic generalist who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys building new functions from the ground up.
The initial focus will be on transforming how the Support and Member Love teams operate, utilizing AI tools as a primary lever. This mindset will then be applied to other functions across the organization. As the company grows, particularly in serving more businesses, this role will help shape these functions to meet the needs of business customers and will play a part in establishing new functions, such as go-to-market, as the company scales and its needs evolve. The role is expected to evolve significantly over time.
Overall Responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally across teams and surfaces to manage the day-to-day operations of the business.
- Design and launch new operational functions from the ground up, from initial pilots to metrics-driven systems that advance strategic goals.
- Build frameworks and systems to drive better decision-making, resource allocation, and strategic planning.
Starting Focus: Support & Member Love
- Redesign workflows and tooling for the Support and Member Love teams, with AI at the center. Consider what best-in-class Support looks like in the near future with available AI tools.
- Define key metrics, build reporting systems around them, and use the surfaced data to drive decisions.
- Begin laying the groundwork for how these functions will evolve as the organization serves more business customers, addressing different expectations, workflows, and scale.
Ongoing & Expanding Scope
- Help shape the operational foundations of the go-to-market motion as the company grows into new customer segments.
- Design and launch new operational functions as company needs emerge, scoping, piloting, and scaling them against clear goals.
- Build frameworks for resource allocation, strategic planning, and decision-making across the business.
- Continuously experiment with new AI tools and models to challenge assumptions about how work gets done.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in business operations, strategy, or a related field.
- A tinkerer mindset: willingness to experiment with the latest AI tools to rethink operational approaches.
- Proven ability to build and implement scalable processes, tools, and workflows from the ground up.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a preference for candidates experienced in designing and interpreting data-driven models.
- Highly structured communication: ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely, presenting ideas both in writing and visually with great attention to detail and impact.
- The ability to prioritize ruthlessly to move quickly. Identify what is most important and the points of diminishing returns. Identify problems and move quickly to establish solutions.
- Intellectual agility to generate and shepherd novel ideas, approaches, and strategies.
- Primarily focused on hiring in North American time zones, requiring at least 4 hours of overlap time with team members in the Eastern Time Zone.
Compensation and Benefits
Total compensation for full-time employees includes base salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The annual base salary range for this role is $165,000 - $190,000 USD. The final offer will depend on experience, expertise, and interview performance. The goal is to ensure compensation does not hinder a mutual fit. Location
The organization is remote-friendly and can hire in any country where it has a legal entity. Employees in or visiting New York are welcome to work from the office in Williamsburg.
