Overview

The Service Technician at Crown Toyota is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of automotive issues, ensuring vehicles run safely and efficiently. Veterans are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Diagnosis and Repair:

  • Analyze customer concerns and vehicle symptoms.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools (scanners, multimeters, pressure gauges, etc.).
  • Inspect engine, transmission, brakes, electrical systems, and more.
  • Prepare repair plans and obtain customer authorizations.
  • Repair, replace components and test for functionality.
  • Document repairs and parts on service orders.

Customer Service:

  • Explain technical issues to customers in simple terms.
  • Provide accurate repair estimates and timelines.
  • Keep customers updated throughout the service process.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Understand automotive systems and repair procedures.
  • Stay current with new automotive technologies and repair methods.
  • Perform a variety of repairs from basic maintenance to complex overhauls.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to safety protocols.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Conduct test drives to evaluate vehicle performance.
  • Research technical information and consult service manuals.
  • Recommend preventative maintenance services.
  • Contribute to a positive, efficient shop environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; automotive training preferred.
  • 2-3 years of relevant automotive repair experience.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • ASE certifications are a strong plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting, technical, and customer service skills.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to perform physical tasks.
