Job Description

Mechanical Project Leader, Installation Technology at Sweco

The future demands creative minds and smart solutions. Sweco is looking for a Mechanical Project Leader, Installation Technology who thrives on challenging, multidisciplinary technical projects. As Europe's largest architecture and engineering consultancy, we possess extensive knowledge and work on complex, leading projects. If you have the drive, flexibility, and experience to lead these initiatives, we encourage you to apply!

Our Building Services business unit comprises approximately 130 project managers, consultants, and engineers dedicated to challenging and impactful installation technology projects, from inception to realization and aftercare. Examples include the transformation of utility buildings and the design of new constructions or spaces such as operating rooms, prisons, laboratories, and production facilities. Sustainability and financial feasibility are constant focal points. Sweco's strength lies in our multidisciplinary projects, where you will collaborate closely with various engineers, 3D modelers, project leaders, consultants, and your team manager. We work in small, multidisciplinary teams across regions throughout the Netherlands, specializing in installation technology, (fire) safety, and CFD simulations.

As a Mechanical Project Leader, you will manage your project team and act as the crucial link between Sweco, the client, project team partners, and any executing parties, representing the client's interests. Your team possesses vast expertise in installation technology, and you can leverage Sweco's numerous other disciplines, such as structural engineering, building physics, and architecture. This role combines in-depth advisory work, process responsibility, and extensive interaction with diverse project stakeholders. You are responsible for the quality of the technical execution, budget, and planning. Beyond management and quality control, you will also contribute to creating technical drawings or specifications and preparing cost estimates. Our portfolio includes projects like the renovation of Paleis 't Loo, UMCG, and the world's most sustainable educational building, the Atlas building at TU Eindhoven.

What you bring to Sweco

  • Completed HBO/WO degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or HIT-W, or equivalent demonstrable work experience.
  • Additional training or courses in installation technology are a plus.
  • Several years of experience as a project leader in utility construction, preferably with complex projects.
  • Enjoy collaborating with various disciplines.
  • Result-oriented, committed, and approachable.

What you can expect from Sweco

  • Work on challenging projects that truly matter.
  • A modern, hybrid work environment that is vibrant, embraces differences, and encourages personal leadership.
  • Ample development opportunities to continue growing.
  • A close-knit team comprising the best professionals.
  • Leadership in employment conditions, sustainability, and digitalization.
  • Much trust, support, and a helping hand.

At Sweco, you're in good hands, as expected from a World-class Workplace employer. You will receive a competitive salary and a generous 32 vacation days. Additionally, we offer a home office allowance, holiday pay, a circular home office setup, and an exceptionally good pension scheme.

Furthermore, Sweco provides significant autonomy, freedom, and responsibility regarding your work hours, location, methods, and timing.
