About the role

Organizational Writer

Survivors to Superheroes is a volunteer-run nonprofit empowering young people affected by sexual violence through advocacy, education, and original content. We are seeking a volunteer Organizational Writer to produce written content for our blog, website, and digital campaigns. Writers will help shape our messaging, amplify survivor-centered resources, and support outreach and education efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Produce informative, engaging blog posts, web pages, and other digital copy aligned with our mission and voice
  • Research and fact-check resources and statistics related to sexual violence, survivor support, and prevention
  • Collaborate with the Digital Content Manager and Communications & Marketing team to plan content, meet deadlines, and optimize messaging for target audiences
  • Revise content based on editorial feedback and ensure content is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and accessible
  • Help repurpose long-form content into social posts, email snippets, or resource summaries as needed
  • Maintain content tracking and contribute to editorial calendar planning

Qualifications

  • College student, recent graduate, or professional writer looking to gain experience or volunteer contribution
  • Strong writing, editing, and research skills
  • Experience writing for web, blogs, newsletters, or social media (nonprofit, advocacy, personal narrative experience a plus)
  • Familiarity with SEO basics and best practices for online readability preferred
