Supplemental Health Care is actively seeking a dedicated Travel Pharmacist for an exciting contract opportunity in Independence, Missouri. This role provides a unique chance to support patient care in a partnering acute care hospital, leveraging your expertise in a dynamic travel environment.
About the Role
As a Travel Pharmacist, you will be part of a team committed to inspiring vital connections and enriching lives. This 13-week contract, with potential for extension, involves 40 hours per week, primarily during nights. You will apply your skills in a fast-paced acute hospital setting, contributing to optimal patient outcomes through expert medication management and patient education.
Responsibilities
- Monitor drug charts to ensure appropriate medication therapy.
- Oversee and manage drug supply and inventory.
- Provide comprehensive information and counseling to patients regarding their medications.
- Carefully choose and dispense medications according to prescriptions and hospital protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient care and medication safety.
Qualifications
- Current and active Missouri Pharmacist License is mandatory.
- A minimum of 1 year of prior experience in an Acute-Hospital based Pharmacy setting.
- Strong commitment to patient safety and excellent communication skills.
