Overview

Suomen Apteekkariliitto, based in Helsinki, represents privately owned, entrepreneur-driven pharmacies. The association develops pharmacies in support of healthcare and creates conditions for high-quality and profitable operations. It also handles member advocacy and delivers valuable member services with over 600 member pharmacies.

PharmaPress Oy, a wholly owned company of Suomen Apteekkariliitto founded in 1997, specializes in communication, training, and event production. It publishes the Terveydeksi! magazine and the Apteekkari.fi online magazine, organizes pharmacy and pharmaceutical events, and provides continuing education for members and their staff.

Role and Responsibilities

The Viestintäjohtaja will take over from a retiring long-term head and lead the communication strategy. The key responsibilities include:

• Advancing the communication strategy for Suomen Apteekkariliitto.
• Managing both external and internal communications.
• Acting as the CEO of PharmaPress Oy.
• Leading a team of seven communication professionals.
• Participating as a member of the executive board.

Requirements

Applicants should have experience in communication leadership, strategic planning, and execution with an understanding of digital channels. Knowledge of political decision-making, media relations, crisis communication, reputation management, and business management in a non-profit context is essential. A suitable university degree is required, with additional studies in communication and leadership viewed as a plus. Fluency in Finnish and English is required; Swedish language skills are an advantage.
