We are seeking a skilled Web Developer to join our dynamic team, primarily working remotely with occasional on-site engagements at Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications within the HPWS framework, ensuring compliance with security standards and accessibility requirements. This role involves close collaboration with government stakeholders, participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle, and producing high-quality, secure, and user-friendly web solutions. The Web Developer will play a vital role in enhancing the capabilities of HPWS modules, supporting mission-critical operations, and ensuring the integrity and security of all web applications developed.

About The Role

The Web Developer will play a vital role in enhancing the capabilities of HPWS modules, supporting mission-critical operations, and ensuring the integrity and security of all web applications developed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field with at least 4 years of web development experience using Adobe ColdFusion and Oracle databases.
- Or any bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant web development experience in ColdFusion and Oracle relational databases.
- Or any post-secondary education with at least 8 years of web development experience with ColdFusion and Oracle databases.
- Proficiency in creating and updating web applications using Adobe ColdFusion, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server procedural languages (PL/SQL and T-SQL).
- Experience in designing, building, and modifying relational database objects, including tables, views, triggers, procedures, and functions.
- Strong ability to craft and understand complex SQL queries.
- Experience working with JavaScript and jQuery, especially implementing AJAX transactions.
- Experience conducting system analysis and reverse engineering of existing systems.
- Familiarity with the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, capable of conveying technical information clearly and concisely.
- Develop and enhance web applications within HPWS using ColdFusion, Oracle PL/SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery, ensuring code quality, readability, and adherence to standards.
- Complete an orientation period, including a project demonstrating proficiency in ColdFusion, JavaScript, jQuery, and Oracle SQL within the HPWS environment.
- Collaborate with USAFSAM/OE and the HPWS Program Office to gather and clarify technical requirements for development projects.
- Create comprehensive technical documentation, including system design, relational database diagrams (ERDs), test plans, deployment procedures, and user training materials.
- Design, build, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases and associated code, supporting remote and on-site work environments.
- Ensure all development work complies with HPWS coding standards, design guidelines, and project management methodologies.
- Support accessibility standards such as W3C WCAG 2.0 in all user interface designs and implementations.
- Implement secure coding practices aligned with the Risk Management Framework (RMF), DoD, USAF, and HIPAA information assurance controls.
- Produce training content for HPWS web applications and conduct training sessions or demonstrations for end users as needed.
- Participate in project meetings, providing regular updates on project status, and documenting progress and change requests.
- Perform code reviews, initiate deployment specifications, and incorporate feedback to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Work independently or collaboratively within the development team to complete assigned projects efficiently.
- Complete required government training on operational security, information assurance, HIPAA, Privacy Act, and records management.
- Maintain availability during core hours of 0900-1500 EST, Monday through Friday, and participate in scheduled meetings via Microsoft Teams.
- Utilize government-furnished equipment for remote work, ensuring secure connections via VPN, and adhere to all security protocols regarding data storage and device usage.
