We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Software Engineer to join our dynamic development team. Reporting directly to the Manager of Software Engineering, this role is pivotal in designing, developing, and supporting modern, scalable applications and services as part of our next-generation platform initiative. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a transformative project that redefines how software is developed and delivered at RouteSmart. The role involves working in an exploratory environment where innovation, experimentation, and adaptability are essential. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building AI-powered solutions, integrating cloud-native systems, and working across diverse technology stacks. You will play a key role in leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and Spec-Driven Development (SDD) to create intelligent, secure, and efficient software that meets future industry demands.Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Technology, or a related field
- Practical experience with microservices architecture, API design, and distributed systems
- Proficiency in web development frameworks such as React or Angular (TypeScript/JavaScript)
- Hands-on experience with backend technologies including Python, Node.js, Java, .NET, Go, or Rust
- Familiarity with mobile development using Swift or Kotlin (preferred)
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker and modern CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, especially in cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Strong interest or experience in Generative AI, LLMs, and prompt engineering concepts
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a growth mindset in ambiguous or evolving scenarios
- Willingness to experiment with new tools, frameworks, and methodologies
Responsibilities
- Utilize AI and Large Language Models to enhance the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including design, coding, testing, and debugging
- Translate product requirements into structured specifications that guide deterministic system behavior
- Partner with AI tools to generate APIs, services, and workflows directly from written specifications
- Refine prompts and development workflows to ensure high-quality, secure, and consistent code outputs
- Design modular, clean, and scalable microservice architectures using appropriate technologies
- Leverage AI to understand, extend, and refactor systems across diverse technology stacks such as Rust, Go, Python, Node.js, Java, .NET, React, Angular, Swift, and Kotlin
- Integrate AI capabilities into systems for real-time decision-making, automation, and unstructured data handling
- Design and operate resilient, cloud-agnostic infrastructure (initially AWS) using Docker and Terraform
- Develop and maintain modern CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous integration and delivery
- Ensure systems are secure, observable, scalable, and cost-efficient, including reviewing AI-generated code for vulnerabilities
- Implement automated validation checks within build and deployment pipelines
- Conduct ongoing threat modeling and risk mitigation for distributed, multi-language systems
- Act as the final validator for AI-driven architectural and logical decisions, ensuring compliance with security standards
- Research emerging AI and coding standards to enhance system security, quality, and performance
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support project goals and team success
